Still want to convince me that I'm sane?

Last night I had a dream that Mark and I were breaking into the house of an evil man to retrieve vital information. And I’m talking James Bond sophistication. I was all “Mark watch out that couch is booby-trapped” and he was just somersaulting everywhere.

We were almost done when out of nowhere a flood of guests in cocktail dress came in and started occupying the area and eating posh canapés. So we did what any self-respecting spies would do…and tangoed. The whole time I was freaking out that I wouldn’t know the steps because Mark and I ditched our dance teacher in Sydney without much of a goodbye and she’s still probably wondering what happened to us, but it was fine. The crowd accepted us.

Then we split up. Mark went to the bedroom while I sipped champagne and talked to the mother of the villain. Straight to the top.

She told me that she had lived in Germany when she was younger and learned German within a month. I expressed my amazement and then she looked me up and down and said “oh yes, but I was very attractive when I was there.” Then she thanked me for coming to her daughter’s hens. And I was all like DAUGHTER? HENS? DAMN I got her a birthday card. How embarrassing!

Then I woke up.

Yeah, try to explain that one brain, because it sounds like deep-seeded issues to me.

Art

And I'm not talking about the museum. I'm talking about my creative shot of the tree.

Why you would fear Munich if you were a dog

Your eyes aren't deceiving you

What you are seeing here is Mark enjoying a beer shandy.Or as it is known in Munich, a "Radler". Moments after this photo was taken he got a tattoo that said "NEVER DRINK BEER AGAIN" to remind himself of the experience.

On an afternoon tryst to hell

In Germany there's a rule that says you have to register with the local council within seven days or be beaten to death with pretzels. Or something similar. So Mark, Simon and I decided to venture to the delightful Bürgerbüro and do the right thing. And when I say "venture" I actually mean spend half of our day walking through Munich via Brasil.

The good news is that we managed to get there half an hour before it closed.

The bad news is that we had to wait two and a half hours in a claustrophobic room that smelled like the seventies.

The good news is that the delightful chappy who served us spoke English and didn't tell us off for being obnoxious foreigners.

The bad news is that previous to meeting with Herr Johann we panicked and spent all of our change on getting passport photos taken. Photos which, it turns out, we didn't actually need.

The good news is that we are now officially registered!

That was a complete tangent, by the way. I just wanted to show off a few more of Munich's goods:

In lieu of a slide show

The slide show was a lot of effort and totally not worth it, so from now on I'm just going to to throw the images on here and rely on you to find the "older/newer" tags at the bottom. I have high hopes for this new arrangement. Don't disappoint me.

Munich continues to wow us with its Munich-ness.

Afore-mentioned owl

He's sad because he doesn't have a name yet.

How to get an instant smile

Buy me a bouquet of minature roses and a random owl toy when I'm misdirecting all of my deadline anxiety onto you. And don't even mention how my head is spinning around and how I clubbed a baby seal.
